Niederhorn Beatenberg

The Niederhorn, Beatenberg’s «house mountain» is not to be missed.
It is accessible by aerial cableway from the village as well as from the nearby lakeside. The station is just a stroll from Hotel Gloria.
From the Niederhorn spectacular hiking routes head in the direction of the village or over the Gemmenalphorn to the neighbouring village of Habkern. If you are lucky you may spot the odd ibex or cute marmots along the way. There are also two scooter bike routes, the «Trotti Bikes» (scooters) are for rent and are a really fun fast way to scoot back down the mountain.

St. Beatus Caves
Located on the north-eastern shore of Lake Thun, near Interlaken, the caves lead deep into the interior of the immense Niederhorn Massif. Electrically lighted, easily hiked trails that delve up to 1000 meters into the depths, lead past roaring subterranean waterfalls, through narrow passages and to grottos with stalactite and stalagmite formations.
